At the confluence of experiential art and technology, there is “Superblue” — an immersive art experience now open in Miami, London and New York.
We first visited Superblue’s inaugural Miami opening earlier this year and were blown away in particular with installations by DRIFT, teamLab, and James Turrell. Together with the operational know-how of former Pace Gallery execs Marc Glimcher and Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst, and the financial backing of Laurene Powell Jobs, Superblue has been driven in large part by “an urgency for people to explore things in the real world again” (Surface Mag). As we explored, meandered, and played thru each installation, like school children who had been kept away from the playground for far too long, we couldn’t agree more.
Wider adoption of blockchain applications have shaken the art world in unprecedented ways, in ways both enormously beneficial and potentially destructive. But overall, we believe that in upcoming years there may never be a better time to be an artist or a patron. And if collectible JPGs are a byproduct of a hot NFT market, here sits Superblue — a real life gathering place for tangible, immersive art experiences. No speculation, just spectacle. We’d highly recommend it. :-)
Superblue hours and tickets are now available on their website superblue.com
